Recap: Valley View Eagles vs. Arlington Lions
The Valley View Eagles lost against the Arlington Lions back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Valley View took a 69-53 bruising from Arlington. Valley View has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Charles Knight and Jalyn Talbert certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Knight scored 12 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals, while Talbert scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. The matchup was Talbert's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Maurice Lynch was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Valley View has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Arlington, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Valley View will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Perris at 5:30 p.m. on December 5th. Perris will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1036th, while Valley View is ranked 278th). Arlington won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Great Oak at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. One thing working in Great Oak's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
