Football Game Preview: Lincoln Christian Crusaders vs. Aurora Huskies

The Lincoln Christian Crusaders are taking a road trip to square off against the Aurora Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln Christian has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while Aurora will come in with three straight victories.

Lincoln Christian's last matchup with Central City could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Crusaders had to suffer through a 35-8 loss at the hands of the Bison. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Bison are ranked 12th).

The losing side was boosted by Kade Stryker, who rushed for 132 yards.

Meanwhile, Aurora never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 34-0 win over Adams Central. The game was the first time the Huskies have beaten the Patriots on their field since September 11, 2015.

Lincoln Christian better keep an eye on Wyatt Pollet. He was instrumental in Aurora's win, rushing for 150 yards and one TD on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 59 yards and one touchdown. With that strong performance, Pollet is now averaging an impressive 101.2 rushing yards per game.

Aurora was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 328 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

The victory got Aurora back to even at 3-3. As for Lincoln Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Lincoln Christian beat Aurora 30-21 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
