Football Game Preview: Rustburg Red Devils vs. Liberty Christian Bulldogs + How To Watch

Rustburg is 0-10 against Liberty Christian since September of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Red Devils will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Rustburg has given up an average of 36 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rustburg is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 34-29 to Liberty on Friday. Despite 156 more yards than the Minutemen, the Red Devils couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Rustburg might have lost, but man, Eric Pannell was a machine: he rushed for 50 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 43 receiving yards and one TD. Aiden Sax also deserves some recognition as he posted his first receiving yards of the season.

Meanwhile, Liberty Christian waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 42-3 victory over the Hilltoppers. The game marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season so far.

Liberty Christian's win came from a few key players Rustburg will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mason Gunn, who rushed for 60 yards and one score on only six carries.

Liberty Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 251 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 151 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Liberty Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jacob Parziale.

Rustburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Liberty Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Rustburg might still be hurting after the 28-7 defeat they got from Liberty Christian in their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
