Devon Allen and Kavon Chisolm secure win for Hampton County

Recap: Hampton County Hurricanes vs. Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles

The Hampton County Hurricanes had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-64 win over Hilton Head Christian Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Hampton County was led to victory by Devon Allen and Kavon Chisolm. Allen scored 15 points along with two steals, while Chisolm scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. Hector Rakes was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Despite the loss, Hilton Head Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Harrison Skinner, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Skinner has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Qayden Turner, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Hampton County is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Hilton Head Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Hampton County will head out on the road to challenge Barnwell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hilton Head Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Bethesda Academy at 7:00 p.m. Bethesda Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 422 points over their last six matchups.
