Sophia Lehosit spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, Morgantown came tearing into Friday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Cougars. Considering the Mohigans have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
MADISON WISMAN made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. WISMAN was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on LIZ ALSOP, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten games. Another player making a difference was ANNE ROBINSON, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Morgantown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

University came up short against Morgantown in their previous meeting last Friday, falling 6-3. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
