Soccer Game Preview: Allen vs. Flower Mound

The Allen Eagles will face off against the Flower Mound Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Allen after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was Plano East who was credited with the victory. Plano East got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Allen's three. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Panthers are ranked 52nd).

Flower Mound is headed into Friday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hebron on Monday.

Allen's loss dropped their record down to 17-2-1. As for Flower Mound, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4-1.
