Volleyball Recap: Walton-Verona Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Walton-Verona duked it out with Conner on Tuesday. The Bearcats came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-13, 25-13.

Chloe McIntosh paced Walton-Verona's offense, picking up 15 kills. McIntosh got some help from Olivia Simpkins and her 15 assists. Annie Allen and Laken Fugate kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Walton-Verona's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Conner, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Walton-Verona will welcome Boone County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Conner, they will head out to square off against Ryle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
