Recap: Coral Springs Charter Panthers vs. Monarch Knights
This season hasn't been kind to the Coral Springs Charter Panthers, who are still winless after their 15th matchup. They were beaten by Monarch 55-28 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Coral Springs Charter has suffered since December 12, 2023.
Despite the loss, Coral Springs Charter still got an impressive performance from Jurgen Meza, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Meza has scored all season.
Monarch's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samari Reed, who scored five points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikyle Campbell, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Coral Springs Charter's loss was their 11th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-15. As for Monarch, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coral Springs Charter will face off against Coconut Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Coconut Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Tuesday. As for Monarch, Monarch and Olympic Heights will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
