Baseball Recap: Big Walnut Triumphs

Big Walnut proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Tri-Valley Scotties 6-5.

Big Walnut is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Tri-Valley, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-3 record.

Looking ahead, Big Walnut will look to defend their home field on Monday against Worthington Kilbourne at 5:00 p.m. As for Tri-Valley, they will take on Morgan at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Scotties' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
