Softball Preview: Bravo Knights vs. Franklin Panthers
The Bravo Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Franklin Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Wednesday, Bravo needed a bit of extra time to put away Marshall. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Barristers 12-11. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
The team relied heavily on Mariluz Diaz, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexie Avila, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bravo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Franklin took on Lincoln on Wednesday. The Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 11-10. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Bravo's record now sits at 6-1. As for Franklin, their record is now 5-3.
