Recap: Winnebago Indians vs. Santee Warriors
There's no place like home for the Winnebago Indians, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They secured a 57-52 W over Santee on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for Winnebago, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Winnebago got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashton Lapointe out in front who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Lapointe pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Brownrigg, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.
Winnebago is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. As for Santee, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.
Winnebago won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Tri County Northeast on February 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Winnebago is ranked 204th, while Tri County Northeast is ranked 200th). As for Santee, they will square off against Pine Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
