Mendota entered their tilt with Putnam County on Thursday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Putnam County Panthers with a sharp 59-36 win. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Panthers are ranked 731st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mendota's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-8. As for Putnam County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-28.
