Cornerstone Christian is 6-1 against Evangel Christian Academy since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Chargers will host the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Cornerstone Christian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Coosa Valley Academy, who was ranked 16th at the time (Cornerstone Christian was ranked fourth). The Chargers were the clear victors by a 60-38 margin over the Rebels on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won four in a row.
Jackson Moore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 253 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 67 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cornerstone Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 474 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 310 rushing yards in seven consecutive games dating back to last season.

Cornerstone Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Malachi Adams, Stephen Fanning, and Kaleb Patterson picked up one apiece. Fanning also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Evangel Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Springwood 42-14.
Cornerstone Christian better keep an eye on DJ Dorsey. He was instrumental in Evangel Christian Academy's win, picking up 91 receiving yards and one TD. Those 91 receiving yards gave Dorsey a new career-high.
Evangel Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Cornerstone Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Cornerstone Christian has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 424.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Evangel Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 179.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
