Softball Recap: Thornton Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Thornton had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Kankakee Kays, falling 16-1. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.

Thornton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Woods, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

The victory got Kankakee back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thornton will take on Thornton Fractional North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kankakee, they will square off against Manteno at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
