Football Recap: St. Edward's Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Glades Day last Thursday, St. Edward came back down to earth. The Pirates were outmatched by the Space Coast Vipers and fell 54-8. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-8.

Zion Sandy was nothing short of spectacular for Space Coast: he threw for 216 yards and three TDs while completing 77.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 80 yards and one score on only seven carries. Those 216 passing yards gave Sandy a new career-high. Space Coast also got a significant boost from Bradyn Cook, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 84 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. Edward's fell to 2-1. As for Space Coast, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, St. Edward's will challenge Pine Crest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Space Coast, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Astronaut at 7:00 p.m. on September 12.
