After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hoover, Wayne was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Lincoln County Panthers 71-45. The Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Wayne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaac Meddings led the charge by going 8-for-16 en route to 19 points along with six boards and five assists. Ronnie Staley was another key player, shooting 44% from the field on his way to 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eli Smith, who posted 13 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Johaim, who had nine points and three steals.

The win snapped Wayne's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-6 record. As for Lincoln County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-19 record this season.

Wayne didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-38 victory against Buffalo on the 3rd. As for Lincoln County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 74-58 loss against Wayne on the 7th.
