After having lost a blowout in their previous game, Greene County was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with an 11-8 victory over the Poplarville Hornets. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Hornets on Friday, they had to take a 12-5 defeat.

Kash Kittrell was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Zaine Moody was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Greene County's record now sits at 18-10. As for Poplarville, they moved to 18-8 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Greene County will square off against West Jones at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. Poplarville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
