Soccer Game Preview: Tombstone vs. Morenci

The Tombstone Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to square off against the Morenci Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Tombstone's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Santa Cruz Valley on Wednesday. Joel Kotchikian is probably feeling rather frustrated with he team right now: they lost despite he posting three goals.

Meanwhile, Morenci unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They lost 6-1 to Desert Christian two weeks ago. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no goals scored by either team from that point forward.

Tombstone now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Morenci, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Tombstone came up short against Morenci in their previous meeting back in January, falling 3-1. Can Tombstone avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
