Baseball Game Preview: Vance Charter Knights vs. Eno River Academy Bobcats

Vance Charter has gone a perfect 9-0 against Eno River Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Vance Charter came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-3 to Northern Durham. Vance Charter's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Vance Charter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julius Burke, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Burke has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Eno River Academy fell victim to Voyager Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 11-0. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Eno River Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Vance Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Vance Charter has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Eno River Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Vance Charter's way against Eno River Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Vance Charter made off with a 19-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
