Basketball Recap: Madison Takes a Loss

Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 74-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greensburg Pirates. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (57), the Cubs still had to take the loss.

Greensburg's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Mckinsey, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Mckinsey now owns an excellent 45.3% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Jacoby Miller, who went 8-for-12 on his way to 19 points.

Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Greensburg, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-8.

Coming up, Madison will host Columbus East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Columbus East is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season. As for Greensburg, they will venture away from home to take on Seymour at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Seymour has won five straight at home, while Greensburg won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
