Recap: St. Bernard's Crusaders vs. Eureka Loggers
The St. Bernard's Crusaders had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.4 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Saturday. They walked away with a 61-51 win over Eureka. That result was just more of the same for these two, as St. Bernard's also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Several Loggers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julian Goodman, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Elijah Estrada was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
St. Bernard's has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Eureka, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Bernard's homestand continues as they prepare to take on South Fork at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. South Fork has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 260 points over their last four contests. As for Eureka, they will be playing at home against University Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully University Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
