Baseball Recap: Pershing County Has No Trouble Against Silver Stage

Pershing County got themselves on the board against Silver Stage on Tuesday, but Silver Stage never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Nighthawks with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Nighthawks: they've now won three in a row.

Tyler Miller was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Pershing County's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 6-16 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Pershing County let Logan Hunt and Jacob Henderson run wild. Hunt went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Henderson went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI Henderson has posted since back in March. Landon Fitzpatrick also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Pershing County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Pershing County pushed their record up to 9-16 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Silver Stage, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 17 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season.
