Baseball Recap: Danville Victorious

While Danville's win against Loyalsock Township wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Ironmen had just enough and edged out the Lancers 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Ironmen have posted since April 1st.

Casey Mills spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Danville is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Carter Raup was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Luke Fidler was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Danville's record is now 3-8. As for Loyalsock Township, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Looking ahead, Danville is taking a road trip to challenge Central Columbia at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Loyalsock Township, they will venture away from home to square off against Southern Columbia Area at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
