Recap: Brighton Bulldogs vs. Broomfield Eagles

The Brighton Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 15th straight defeat. They were dealt a 67-10 defeat at the hands of Broomfield. Brighton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-4.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Brighton struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Broomfield racked up 16 assists.

Broomfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paige Gilpatrick, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Gilpatrick has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ej Harper, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.

Brighton dropped their record down to 1-18 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.2 points per game. As for Broomfield, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brighton will take on Fairview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fairview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Broomfield, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Prairie View at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th. Broomfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
