Baseball Recap: Hampshire Find Success

Hampshire hadn't done well against Wayne County recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Hampshire Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Wayne County Wildcats. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 18-5 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Tyler Shelton and Kasen Anderson did most of the damage at the plate: Shelton scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Anderson scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave Shelton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keaon Nicholson, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Hampshire now has a winning record of 2-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hampshire beat Wayne County by a score of 8-2 later that day.
