Basketball Recap: Monticello Has No Trouble Against Goochland

Monticello lost to Goochland back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Monticello Mustangs put the hurt on the Goochland Bulldogs with a sharp 51-27 win. That looming 51-27 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.

Monticello's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Davis, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shameil Harris, who had seven points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Monticello is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Goochland, they dropped their record down to 7-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Monticello wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 54-45 victory against East Rockingham on the 25th. As for Goochland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-41 win against Orange County on the 28th.
