Softball Recap: Johnson Creek Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Johnson Creek won the last time they faced Palmyra-Eagle and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bluejays came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 6-3. Winning may never get old, but the Bluejays sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Tori Buglass was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Libby Burbach, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Molly Altreuter, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Johnson Creek's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Palmyra-Eagle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnson Creek will venture away from home to face off against Williams Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Palmyra-Eagle, they will head out to challenge Cambridge at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
