The Glenelg Gladiators will square off against the Howard Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Glenelg is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering River Hill just ended the team's 14-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-2. The loss put an end to the Gladiators' undefeated start to the season.
Glenelg took River Hill into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-14, 25-12, 25-27, 15-10.
Meanwhile, Howard put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Guilford Park 3-0.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-17, 25-13.
Howard's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miranda Ball, who had ten digs and three aces. That's the most aces Ball has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Jojo Vassor, who had five digs and four aces.
