Softball Preview: Summersville Wildcats vs. Willow Springs Bears

After three games on the road, Summersville is heading back home. They will take on the Willow Springs Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Summersville will be strutting in after a victory while Willow Springs will be coming in after a loss.

On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Buttress has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Buttress was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Summersville got a massive performance out of Tara Bryant, who scored three runs and stole seven bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Bryant is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stolen at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Kaytlin Martin was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Willow Springs had to settle for a 7-6 defeat against Ava on Wednesday.
