Basketball Recap: Dime Box Takes a Loss

Dime Box was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 74-29 loss at the hands of the Fayetteville Lions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Longhorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-20 back in December of 2024.

Dime Box's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ta'Niyah Auston, who posted 14 points, and Heather Fritsche, who earned seven points. That was a full 48.3% of Dime Box's points, marking the 15th time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Fayetteville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cambree Denham, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave Denham a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Devynn Moeckel, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards.

Dime Box's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Fayetteville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-15 record this season.

Dime Box has already played their next matchup, a 48-28 win against Calvert on the 24th. As for Fayetteville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-18 victory against North Zulch on the 24th.
