The Wichita County Indians will head out to challenge the Ellis Railroaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Wichita County's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
Wichita County's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past Quinter to the tune of 50-0. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won five games by 46 points or more so far this season.

Cashton Young was his usual excellent self, rushing for 323 yards and seven scores while picking up 14.7 yards per carry. Young is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wichita County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 379 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Wichita County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Christian Figueroa and Pablo Reyes.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ellis). They blew past Ness City 58-8 on Friday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Railroaders just coasted through the last quarter.
Wichita County better focus on containing Baylor Born and Carson Schartz as the pair were huge in Ellis' win. Born threw for 101 yards and five TDs while completing 91.7% of his passes, while Schartz rushed for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. Schartz was even better on defense, picking up two sacks and making 12 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Ellis' defense made their presence known, laying out Braddix Bozarth three times. Leading the way was Schartz with two sacks. Ellis received some extra help from Schartz, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Wichita County pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. As for Ellis, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-5.
Everything came up roses for Wichita County against Ellis when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
