Softball Preview: Wilson Area Warriors vs. Northwestern Lehigh Tigers        
        
		
            Wilson Area is 1-8 against Northwestern Lehigh since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Thursday. The Warriors will take on the Tigers at 4:15  p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Wilson Area made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Saucon Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Warriors blew past the Panthers 15-1 on Tuesday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Warriors.

 Tessa Fredericks was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Fredericks was also big at the plate,  firing off two  home runs, three  runs,  and four  RBI while going 3-for-3. Those  two  home runs gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Abymarie Colon was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two  triples, four  RBI,  and two  runs.  Anna Schmitt was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
 Wilson Area  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  strikeout total in three consecutive  games.
 Meanwhile, Northwestern Lehigh had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Crusaders as they made off with  a  10-2 victory.
 Northwestern Lehigh's win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 6-2. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Wilson Area, their  win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-4.
 Wilson Area might still be hurting after the  13-7 loss they got from Northwestern Lehigh  when the teams last played  back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
