Garfield Heights had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed past the John Marshall Lawyers to the tune of 68-24 on Saturday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Lawyers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Marcus Johnson was nothing short of spectacular: he shot 41% from the field to rack up 22 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachariah Belcher, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 11 points and five boards.

John Marshall's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arman Mitchell, who posted seven points and five assists. Tra'Sean Artis was another key player, putting up six points and ten rebounds.

Garfield Heights didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-58 victory against Medina on the 2nd. As for John Marshall, they will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Padua Franciscan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
