Baseball Game Preview: Woodland Cougars vs. Pawnee Black Bears

Woodland and Pawnee are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Woodland Cougars will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Pawnee Black Bears at 5:00 p.m. Woodland has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 25.

Woodland fell victim to Tonkawa and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 17-0 to the Buccaneers.

Meanwhile, Pawnee came up short against Meeker on Monday, falling 11-3.

Pawnee saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Mitchell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs Mitchell has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Kash Demauro, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Pawnee's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Woodland, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Woodland beat Pawnee 11-8 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Woodland repeat their success, or does Pawnee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
