Softball Game Preview: Plymouth North Eagles vs. Bridgewater-Raynham Trojans

The Plymouth North Eagles will head out to square off against the Bridgewater-Raynham Trojans at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Bridgewater-Raynham took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Plymouth North, who comes in off a win.

Plymouth North will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Duxbury on Thursday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 14-8 victory. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won eight in a row.

Chloe Stasinos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She also put up two runs, which were her first of the season.

At the plate, Plymouth North got a massive performance out of Emerson Boyd, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Cora Gervasi was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Bridgewater-Raynham came up short against King Philip Regional on Wednesday and fell 7-4. The loss put an end to the Trojans' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bridgewater-Raynham fell to 2-1. As for Plymouth North, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Plymouth North might still be hurting after the 15-1 loss they got from Bridgewater-Raynham when the teams last played on April 1st. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
