Softball Recap: Pendleton Heights Victorious

Pendleton Heights took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Franklin Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Arabians won by a run and slipped past the Flashes 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Arabians have posted since May 3, 2024.

Pendleton Heights got a great performance from Morgan Bricker as she pitched 7.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off 13 hits. Bricker has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Erin Davis and Kaylee Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Davis scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Smith went 1-for-2 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Smith a new career-high.

Pendleton Heights now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Franklin Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coincidentally, Pendleton Heights and Franklin Central will both be playing Jennings County the next time they take the field. The Flashes will head out to face the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Arabians will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
