Football Game Preview: Maxwell Panthers vs. Biggs Wolverines + How To Watch

Maxwell hasn't had much luck against Biggs recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Maxwell is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 1-0 win over Quincy. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won eight in a row.

Biggs never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Portola on Friday. They really took it to the Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up a 33-6 win. Considering the Wolverines have won five games by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Biggs didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brayden Martin and Cashten Acosta. Acosta also rushed for 144 rushing yards, which is notable because Biggs is undefeated when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 3-4 otherwise. Martin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Maxwell's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Biggs, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Maxwell strolled past Biggs in their previous matchup back in September by a score of 49-34. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Wolverines' Skyler Long, who rushed for 105 yards and five touchdowns, and also threw for 140 yards on nine of 18 attempts.
