Basketball Recap: Gavin Perdue's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Spring Valley over Parkersburg South

After flying high against South Charleston on Tuesday, Spring Valley came back down to earth. The game between the Timberwolves and the Parkersburg South Patriots didn't end well, with the Timberwolves falling 80-63. The Timberwolves haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Several Timberwolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gavin Perdue, who shot 70% from the field on his way to 20 points. Nymir Bryant was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and nine blocks.

Having lost for the first time this season, Spring Valley fell to 2-1. As for Parkersburg South, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Valley and Wayne will round out the year against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 27th. As for Parkersburg South, they will take on Expression Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 27th.
