Baseball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

If Centennial was riding high fresh off their 15-8 takedown of King on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Huskies took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves on Wednesday. The Huskies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolves earlier this season, when they won 15-8.

Nyzaiah Blue was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Centennial saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian De La O, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Centennial has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for King, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

While Centennial had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
