Softball Recap: John Carroll Takes a Loss

John Carroll had taken Mount de Sales Academy down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Patriots fell 12-8 to the Sailors. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sailors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Ryan Pindell was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Gianna Gargano, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

John Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Mount de Sales Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. John Carroll will challenge rival McDonogh at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mount de Sales Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
