Basketball Recap: Santa Fe South Comes Up Short

Santa Fe South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Elgin Owls, falling 77-50. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Saints of the 48-38 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.

Santa Fe South's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Elgin, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing El Reno the next time they take the court. Elgin will head out to face El Reno at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025, while Santa Fe South will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 17, 2025.
