Soccer Game Preview: Brookville vs. Rustburg

For the first time this season, Brookville will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing at home against the Rustburg Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brookville's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Brookville narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Appomattox County 2-1. That's two games straight that Brookville have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Rustburg kept a clean sheet against Altavista last Tuesday. They blew past the Colonels 6-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Rustburg.

They hit Altavista with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jason Dixon (2), Sean Culver (2), Sean Clark, and Derek O'Shaunghnessy.

Brookville's victory bumped their record up to 2-0-1. As for Rustburg, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Brookville couldn't quite get it done against Rustburg when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can Brookville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
