Baseball Game Preview: David Anderson Blue Devils vs. East Palestine Bulldogs

The David Anderson Blue Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the East Palestine Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Palestine took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on David Anderson, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, David Anderson turned things around against Liberty on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Leopards. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blue Devils have posted since May 14, 2024.

Ashton Hinchliffe was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, East Palestine fell victim to Toronto and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Red Knights, falling 10-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bulldogs, who until this game were averaging 3.5 runs allowed.

David Anderson's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for East Palestine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. David Anderson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like East Palestine struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

David Anderson couldn't quite get it done against East Palestine when the teams last played back in April of 2023 as they fell 5-0. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
