Recap: MacArthur Generals vs. La Porte Bulldogs
The MacArthur Generals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. The match between MacArthur and La Porte wasn't particularly close, with MacArthur falling 75-60. While losing is never fun, MacArthur can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1108th, while La Porte is ranked 212th).
Trent Callies continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for La Porte, scoring 23 points along with four steals. The game was Callies' tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cody Miller, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
MacArthur bumped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for La Porte, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
MacArthur will finish 2023 at home by hosting Katy Taylor at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. La Porte will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Dobie at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
