League recap: Countryside's Mielock delivers best pitching performance from past week

7A District 10 league recap: 3/8/13

7A District 10's top pitcher this week was Countryside's Jake Mielock. Over the past week, he had one win and nine Ks.

This could be a critical week for Seminole, which holds a 1-game lead over Pinellas Park for the league's top spot in the standings.

Northeast scored 37 runs this week to lead the league, but the Warhawks are tops in runs scored this year, with 40.

Pinellas Park gave up the fewest hits in the league over the past week (five), but the Cougars have surrendered a league-fewest 20 base hits over the entire season.

Six batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Stephen Nobles, who hit .600 this week (3-for-5).



Countryside's Mielock threw seven shutout innings in a 5-0 win over Pinellas Park on Tuesday. He struck out nine, allowing two hits.

Evan Graves threw a no-hitter this week in the Patriots' 4-0 victory over St. Petersburg.
