The third road contest was the charm for Dawson, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against the Dobie Longhorns by a score of 6-1 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 last Tuesday.

Bennett Schnee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

At the plate, Dawson let Jack Dyment and David Alanis run wild. Dyment scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Alanis scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Alanis has posted since back in March of 2024. Aiden Villanueva was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Dawson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dobie only posted a batting average of .080.

Dawson picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-6. As for Dobie, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Coming up, Dawson will challenge Pasadena Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dobie, they will take on Elgin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
