Basketball Recap: Teagan Vansickle's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hardee over Fort Meade

Hardee lost against Fort Meade back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hardee Wildcats lost to the Fort Meade Miners at home by a 53-36 margin.

Hardee's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Teagan VanSickle, who posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave VanSickle a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Victor Rodriguez, who had ten points.

Fort Meade's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Omari Russell, who earned 13 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Russell is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Clark, who posted eight points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Hardee's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Fort Meade, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Hardee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 76-73 victory against DeSoto County on the 19th. As for Fort Meade, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-27 defeat against George Jenkins on the 19th.
