Northside (Warner Robins, Ga.) captured the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a 23-20 victory over
Tucker (Ga.) on Saturday. The Eagles captured the lead for good when
Glenn Smith thew a touchdown to
Keshun Hill.
The Tigers pulled ahead on a
Juwaan Williams touchdown run, and subsequently went into halftime leading 7-3. The Eagles took the lead for good with a touchdown pass by Smith to Hill in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring zero points in the third, Northside still trailed by 10 points going into the fourth quarter. But 20 points in the fourth helped NHS pull out the victory.
With the win the Warner Robins school extended its winning streak to 14 games. The Eagles defeated the Yellowjackets 24-10 last week.
Tucker's Williams played well. The senior quarterback ran for three touchdowns.
Northside's standout player in the win was
Curtis Martin. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns.
The victory will ease some of the sting of NHS's close 17-16 loss to THS last season.
The loss comes after Tucker defeated North Paulding 40-21 last week. The loss snapped the Tigers' 3-game winning streak.
