Recap: Avant Garde Academy Sharks vs. Miami Country Day Spartans

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Avant Garde Academy Sharks can now relate to. They were beaten by the Spartans 116-49 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Avant Garde Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 705th, while Miami Country Day is ranked 114th).

Herbert Wilson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 51 points and 18 rebounds for Miami Country Day. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aiden Reid, who dropped a triple-double on ten points, ten assists, and ten steals.

Avant Garde Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Miami Country Day, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Avant Garde Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Miami Country Day will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against NSU University at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. One thing working in NSU University's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
