Softball Recap: Duchesne Beats Altamont for Their Third Straight Win

Duchesne extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 17-5 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Altamont Longhorns. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 15 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Kira Grant was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Grant was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Prezley Farnsworth was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Kamee Larsen, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Duchesne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Altamont only posted an OBP of .273.

As for Altamont, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 15 games and leaves them with a 15-5 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since March 15th.

On Altamont's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kate Lindsay, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Duchesne will take on Emery at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Altamont, they will challenge Panguitch at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
